Hot Water Cylinder Installation & Maintenance
Installation: We install vented (open-vented) copper or stainless-steel cylinders fed from a cold-water tank in your loft. We size the cylinder (e.g., 120–250 litres) based on your household’s bath fill rates and number of occupants. We connect primary heating coils to your boiler, install new immersion heaters (dual or triple), fit thermostats, and ensure all vent pipes are correctly routed with no air locks.
Maintenance: We check for weeping gate valves, inspect the expansion pipe for discharge, test immersion heater elements for electrical continuity, and replace sacrificial anodes (in stainless models) to prevent corrosion. We also flush sediment from the cylinder base to improve heat transfer and reduce noise (kettling).
